Seattle Sensory Garden at Woodland Park Zoo

Scope of Work Performed:

 

This 1.3-acre garden site is within the northeast corner of the Woodland Park Zoo Rose Garden.  The project consisted of modifications to the existing park space by constructing touch and small gardens with interactive features accessible to people with visual and mobility limitations and people with autism. Work included:

 

- Site preparation: security and erosion control

 

- Protection of existing features and vegetable, site demolition, clearing and grubbing

 

- Earthwork/grading and drainage

 

- Construction of concrete paving: aggregate paths, metal planters, log walls, artificial turf play mound, furniture, arbor, fencing, railing and garden feature

 

- Installation and fabrication of custom furnishing and special features

 

- Installation of landscape soils, plantings and irrigation system.
